SIZE and FITTING

The Nike PG line is known for its snugness, and users usually go up half or even a full size to attain their preferred lockdown and fitting. But in the case of Nike PG 5, users can actually go true to size, depending on feet structure. Buyers can still go up half a size based on their preference and since the pair is still a bit snug.

Another good thing about the Nike PG 5 is that Nike already fixed the issue of instability in the foot bed from the Nike PG 4, making the pair firmer and more stable when playing.

OVERALL RATING

Well, the Nike PG 5 is exciting. Though this shoe line became inconsistent from the design, considering that the pair looks more of a sequel of the Nike PG 3 than the Nike PG 4, up to the traction pattern with the infusion of Nike Kobe 9’s traction, Nike was able to keep the PG line on track.

The aesthetics of the Nike PG 5 is way better and appealing than the Nike PG 4 and the integration of the cushion technologies is definitely superb and offers good comfort. However, considering that this is a signature pair, the brand could still improve and give a lot of focus on the pair’s upper materials.

Nike’s decision to infuse Kobe 9’s traction will surely boost PG line’s reputation on the court. We are still uncertain if the brand will still continue to do this in the future releases of PG pairs or even to other basketball shoes. While this is an obvious good move for the brand, it might backfire and affect PG line’s own identity.

While some users will not really mind this detail as long as the pair performs good on the court, the very essence of establishing an identity through the signature pair will surely affect the PG line. Nonetheless, this could be one of Nike’s marketing strategies, and it seems like George does not mind since he is an avid fan of the late Kobe Bryant.

The Nike PG 5 nets an overall rating of 4.7 out of 5.

WHERE TO BUY
