Myles Powell announced his return to Bay Area via an explosive 50-point outing against Rain or Shine.
Myles Powell Delivers a 50-Piece
The Bay Area Dragons turned to the returning Myles Powell to blow past the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters, 120-87. Powell exploded for 50 markers while staying efficient from the field. He made 60% of his shots, including a scintillating 11-of-17 clip from three-point land.
This was Powell’s return trip to the Dragons’ active lineup after the team chose him over Andrew Nicholson to be their import for the rest of the 2022 PBA Commissioner’s Cup. With the win against Rain or Shine, Powell and the Dragons climb to a 7-2 record in the standings.
Anton Asistio (20 points) and Rey Nambatac (12) are the only Elasto Painters who put up double digits in the scoring column. New import Ryan Pearson didn’t make a statement in his first game, as he only turned in nine points and two assists.
Meralco Puts Away Blackwater in Overtime
The Meralco Bolts needed an extra period but they got things done, netting a 102-98 overtime win over the Blackwater Bossing. KJ McDaniels led the Bolts with his 26 points, 16 boards, and 5 assists, while Chris Banchero and Allein Maliksi turned in 17 and 16 markers, respectively.
It was a brave stand for an undermanned Blackwater squad playing without key cogs Baser Amer, Troy Rosario, and Jvee Casio. Cameron Krutwig and Renato Ular hauled double-double outings, but it wasn’t enough to save Blackwater from their 7th loss of the conference.
