Batang Pier survive Bossing’s last run

Prince Ibeh scored 19 points in a 9-15 clip and grabbed 10 rebounds as the NorthPort Batang Pier survive a late scare against Blackwater Bossing, 87-83.

Marksman Arvin Tolentino provided hot shooting, scoring 15 points and shooting 3-of-6 from three-point territory, while Robert Bolick added 12 points, 7 rebounds, and 10 assists.

Veteran forward Arwind Santos contributed 14 points and 10 rebounds while Jerrick Balanza added 13 points as the Batang Pier returned to the winning column.

Cameron Krutwig powered the Bossing with 28 points and 17 rebounds but it was not enough to snatch the win. Newly-acquired power forward Troy Rosario had 17 markers, while Baser Amer added 16.

Bench scoring was also an X-factor in the game with the Batang Pier getting the upper hand, 34-14.

Rakocevic powers Magnolia to remain unbeaten

Rakocevic tallied 36 points on 56% shooting to preserve Magnolia’s unblemished record against the Road Warriors, 111-97.

The Serbian big man also added 15 rebounds in the dominant win. Jio Jalalon came out big off the bench, contributing 18 points, 5 rebounds, 8 assists, and 6 steals for the Hotshots, who led as many as 22 points.

Mark Barroca finished the game with 16 points. Paul Lee had a cold night, scoring only 9 points on 25% shooting, so it was fortunate that his teammates had his back in this win.

Justin Chua and Kevin Alas led the Road Warriors with 16 points apiece, while also combining for 12 rebounds and 7 assists. Super import Earl Clark was limited to only 15 points as NLEX succumbed to their second straight loss.

Rookie Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser added 15 points and 5 rebounds in the losing effort.
