This will be the trend of the future. The sustainable and eco-friendly sneakers, primed with salivating aesthetics, will surely become a hit for years to come. The Nike Cosmic Unity, being one of the first basketball pairs that is made mostly of recycled materials, has already triggered the revolution.
This iteration of the Nike Space Hippie 01 is dressed in obsidian, signal blue, psychic blue, and white color combination. The “Space Waste Yarn” upper is made of 90% recycled polyester out of recycled plastic bottles, t-shirt, and yarn scraps. Overall, the pair is predominantly made of 50% recycled materials atop its signature Crater Foam sole.
The pair comes in one piece with its tongue attached with lace-like eyelets. The design then finishes with a “01” mark on the toe box and a deconstructed Swoosh logo.
Nike has yet to announce the release date of the pair, but it will soon be available at selected Nike stores for US$130.
