Two-time MVP A’ja Wilson gets her own signature logo from Nike.
Las Vegas Aces superstar A’ja Wilson is getting closer to a Nike signature shoe release.
Nike just announced Wilson’s unique logo with the brand. The design screams throwback styles with the round lines and free-flowing vibes. Here’s a quick view of the logo:
People did have mixed reactions when the logo came out. Some said that it’s an “inverted snail”, while others mentioned that it looks like a “vertebrae”. However, we beg to differ.
As how Nike put it, Wilson’s logo “accentuates her energetic and playful way”. Moreover, it’s a spacious logo that could be easily scalable. It’s free-flowing in that sense.
Wilson joins a growing list of WNBA stars who are forging sneaker success. This list includes exceptional names like Sabrina Ionescu and Breanna Stewart. Other stars who have gotten their “Player Edition” (PE) deals include Kelsey Plum, Chelsea Gray, Nneka Ogwumike, and Jewell Loyd.
Of course, many previous WNBA stars have paved the way. Skylar Diggins-Smith put PUMA basketball back on the map in 2017. You also have the likes of Sheryl Swoopes, Lisa Leslie, Diana Taurasi, and Candace Parker donning their signature shoes.
As for Wilson, her success is steadily building up. She’s a two-time MVP, two-time champion, and six-time All-Star. Wilson currently leads the Aces this season, averaging 27.2 points, 12.0 rebounds, and 2.9 blocks.
