Michael Jordan’s first signature shoe was released in 1984. 35 years later, the six-time champ’s famous signature shoe line is still dominating the sneaker game. The brand is easily worth a north of a US$10 billion, generating all its profits for 35 years. With the brand entering a new chapter, it looks to refine and introduce new technologies as well as provide better performance.

To commemorate the milestone of the Jumpman team, the Air Jordan 35 nods to the famous Air Jordan 5. From its shape, design, details, and materials, the Air Jordan 35 draws a lot of features from the pair that was first released way back 1990.

Its official release is scheduled later this month, but NBA stars like Jayson Tatum and Kemba Walker already debuted the newest Air Jordan pair during the league’s restart at the bubble.

To help every sneaker fan decide if this is worth a cop, here is an in-depth analysis of the new Air Jordan 35.

MATERIALS

Unlike the Air Jordan 34, which was implemented with lightweight, new generation materials, premium materials along with modern-day synthetics are integrated in the new Air Jordan pair. Along with new generation uppers, the pair also has premium leather and suede overlays in toe and heel, which will depend upon the colorway.

The netting, which nods to the Air Jordan 5 in the toe area, tongue, and side panel, is made of the new “Flight Wire” system, and is built for ventilation and airflow.

The new “Flight Wire” system introduced in the Air Jordan 35 is an evolution of Nike’s iconic Flywire tech, and is designed to provide better and stronger support system. A Kurim cage will also be featured underneath the Flight Wire system of the pair, and will be extremely pliable. Durable upper materials will surely provide firmer and stronger uppers.
