March Madness may not be around until 2023, but Jordan Brand has other things in mind. Recently, the multi-billion dollar brand announced that a new college-themed sneaker silhouette will be released soon. Check out today’s sneaker menu, starting with the all-new Air Jordan 5 “UNC.”
Air Jordan 5 Puts On UNC's Historic Colors
Tons of highly-sought-after college-themed Air Jordan sneakers are circulating in the sneaker game, and most of them come with a hefty price. It’s safe to say that the Air Jordan 5 “UNC” won’t be an exemption.
The upcoming silhouette is a nod to the University of North Carolina, which is Michael Jordan’s alma mater. The pair is dressed in the traditional UNC color schemes – University Blue, Black, and White.
This iteration of Air Jordan 5 will come in University Blue nubuck uppers, along with the pair’s signature silver 3M reflective tongue and a black Jumpman logo. On the right and left back of the tongue, the words “HEART” and “SOUL” are stitched, respectively.
Lastly, a collegiate patch is stitched on the heel atop Black midsole with Grey shark teeth and a translucent outsole.
The Air Jordan 5 “UNC” is set for release on March 4, 2023 at selected Nike stores. Pairs will be available for US$225 and will come in a special box.
