TRACTION
The Adidas Dame 7 boasts a solid rubber outsole compound, which is again expected to bite well. Its grip capabilities are backed up with traction patterns similar to Lillard’s rival’s signature pair, Russell Westbrook’s Air Jordan Why Not 3.
Given the tiny spaces between the patterns, the outsole easily accumulates dusts when being played outdoors but a simple wipe will do the trick. The traction is definitely good for shifty players, and a few break-ins will push the traction to its full potential.
The weird part, however, is the implementation of a little crater-like pattern in the heels and medial portion of the outsoles. Adidas has implemented this design in different pairs before. While its main purpose is a bit vague, it’s assumed that this tooling will help give a more court feel and will reinforce the grip being provided by the patterns.
