The TNT Tropang Giga finally ended an eight-year title drought after defeating the Magnolia Hotshots in just five games to claim the 2021 PBA Philippine Cup championship. The return of head coach Chot Reyes, the masterful chemistry of the team, and the stellar performance of their super rookie Mikey Williams all contributed to their winning cause.

Even though Williams lost to Magnolia’s Calvin Abueva for the Best Player of the Conference award, the recently turned 30-year-old rookie still bagged the Finals MVP plum, a feat that last happened back in 2003.

Now that the heated 2021 PBA Philippine Cup has come to an end, it’s time for DM Kicks to crown its first-ever “PBA Sneaker King”!

This conference’s “Sneaker King” consistently dominated the charts throughout the entire segment. Moreover, he donned numerous rare and hyped sneakers, not to mention the hefty price tag attached to them.

At first, it was a close battle between some of the league’s biggest names such as Phoenix’s Matthew Wright, San Miguel’s Chris Ross, and TNT’s Mikey Williams. However, as teams kept getting eliminated, and some sneakers reappeared on separate occasions, it became clearer who is the clear-cut winner of the “Sneaker King” crown.

So without further ado, DM Kicks is proud to present its very first “Sneaker King” — TNT’s Mikey Williams!

To celebrate the crowning of this conference’s “Sneaker King”, let’s take a look back at some of the best sneakers that the Tropang Giga rising star laced up throughout the conference.

This silhouette of the Kobe 5 Protro was released in May 2020 to honor the induction of the Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

The “Hall of Fame” silhouette belongs to the last set of Kobe pairs to be released by Nike after the late Lakers superstar’s contract with the brand officially ended.

The pair was just released last May and is currently valued at around P15,000.

The “Prelude” colorway of the Kobe 6 was a part of the eight-shoe capsule that featured the full history of the Kobe line with Nike and served as a pre-show to the launch of the Nike Kobe 9 in January 2014. It depicted the eclectic Venice neighborhood of Los Angeles.

Moreover, the Kobe 6 “Prelude” commemorates Bryant’s 2011 All-Star MVP award which he won at Los Angeles’ own turf along with the city’s skate culture.

The Kobe 6 “Prelude” is currently valued at PhP 90,000.
