First teased back in April and originally listed to release on July 18, Nike confirmed that Air Jordan 12 “University Gold” will finally make its way to the market on the 24th. The shoe is inspired by Gary “The Glove” Payton’s “Away” Air Jordan 12 PE during the 2003-2004 season with the Los Angeles Lakers.
Similar to the OG’s material, it features genuine leather upper with original lizard-patterned mudguard. Throughout the tongue is the signature design of the Air Jordan 12 printed in yellow hue. The outsole is made of translucent material that blends with its yellow scheme.
However, it foregoes the original carbon fiber shank plate that gives way to a much simpler black and grey palette. It has a matte-finish across its metal eyelets. The Air Jordan 12 “University Gold” will be available at selected Nike Stores with the retail price of US$190.
