Caperal continues to fill in effectively for Greg Slaughter’s absence as he amassed a game-high 24 points to help Ginebra tally their second consecutive win in the 2020 PBA Philippine Cup. Scoring guard Stanley Pringle chipped in 17 points, while Scottie Thompson produced his usual all-around outing of 14 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists.
With Ginebra leading by 11 points entering the halftime break, Blackwater would go on a third quarter surge to storm back into the contest. The Elite poured in a massive total of 39 points in that quarter alone, snatching a one-point advantage before the payoff period.

But Caperal would continue his individual brilliance in the fourth quarter as he hit a couple more timely baskets to help Ginebra regain the lead. An Aljon Mariano free throw gave Ginebra a 94-85 advantage in the waning minutes, and the league’s crowd favorites never looked back from there.
Don Trollano paced Blackwater with his double-double performance of 23 points and 10 boards, and Mac Belo came off the bench to tally 16 points and 7 rebounds. Roi Sumang had a couple of crucial baskets in the dying seconds to trim their opponents’ lead, but Ginebra’s veteran forward Jared Dillinger calmly made consecutive free throws on the other end.
LA Tenorio and Japeth Aguilar continue to see limited action for Ginebra, but the team received plenty of contributions from their supporting cast.
