As the deal of the late great Kobe Bryant with Nike has reached its end, the famous sneaker brand will commemorate the life of the Black Mamba and his daughter, Gigi, in the upcoming Nike Kobe Protro 6 “Mamba Forever”.
The basketball world was shocked when the news broke out that Kobe Bryant Estate stated that no contract extension will be done between them and Nike. This unfortunate turn of events hinted at the possibility of forming Kobe’s own brand, which was initially revealed after the basketball superstar’s tragic death.
The Nike Kobe Protro 6 “Mamba Forever” will come in black, white, and metallic gold color scheme. The pair will feature its signature snakeskin textile uppers along with white Swoosh, heel counter, and laces atop black midsole and white rubber outsoles.
To highlight Nike’s gesture, the logo of the Mamba and Mambacita Sports Foundation will be seen at the heel portion of the pair, along with Kobe and Gigi’s names branded on both pairs. Gigi’s jersey number 2 is also branded on the lateral counter to sum up the design.
The Nike Kobe Protro 6 “Mamba Forever” is set for release in the Summer of 2021. Pairs are expected to come in limited quantities at selected Nike stores for US$180.
