Back in 2012, Rose signed a lucrative 14-year deal of US$190 million, along with some mind-blowing royalties with the Three Stripes. These royalties include:
1) US$6.25 million in annual royalties and the use of a private plane
2) Payment for Rose’s brother, Reggie, ranging from US$250k to US$350k annually for being Rose’s “consultant”
3) Rose’s bestfriend earns US$50k to US$70k a year
4) US$150k a year is donated to an AAU team of Rose’s choice
The deal was luxurious, but Adidas knew that it was just a small price to pay compared to what can Rose give in return. Rose was considered as one of the most explosive players and obviously had a very bright future ahead of him. He even won the MVP award in 2011 when he was just 22 years old, the youngest to win the award in NBA history.
However, just 64 days after signing his rich deal with the Three Stripes brand, the 2011 MVP suffered a devastating, career-changing ACL injury during Chicago’s playoff series against Philadelphia. Since then, the 2008 Rookie of the Year’s career started to fall apart.

Many believed that Rose might retire after a series of injuries and off-the-court issues. A lot of fans also thought that Adidas should have stopped paying D-Rose and should have ceased in producing the now 32 years old’s signature shoes and other merchandise.
Now playing for the Detroit Pistons, fans witnessed the resurgence of one of the most explosive guards in the league after a long battle of injuries and personal struggles. Adidas also remained faithful and continues to release the youngest MVP’s signature shoes.
Adidas is committed to changing the course of Rose’s signature pairs as they continue to improve the series’ materials and performance. In the past years after his devastating injury, fans have enjoyed several D-Rose pairs that performed at a very high level. The D Rose 11 Adidas Rose 7is arguably the best in the former MVP’s shoe line.
Adidas has now released the D Rose 11 which features some of the materials from the guard’s former shoe line. Here is an in-depth analysis of D-Rose’s 11th signature pair.

MATERIALS
The materials nod to the Chicago native’s former signature pairs. Adidas further improved the materials implemented in the latest pair after the former Bulls superstar suffered a series of injuries during his early years in the league.
Adidas brought back D-Rose’s OG Adizero upper materials. But this time, the tooling and implementation are way better than before. The medial part of the pair just atop the midsole is a new generation style sprint web screen mesh and has a structured layer that gives support and holds from tweaks, providing more ventilation.
It also boasts an improved version of the Crazylight materials. The materials from the original Crazylight are a bit lackluster and flimsy. Fans may remember it well since DRose started to suffer ankle injuries during the playoffs while using Crazylight materials.
While his injuries were probably caused by his aggressive playing style, the technology of the shoes contributes a lot to the well-being of an athlete while playing. The new Adidas D Rose 11 eliminated dangerous materials from the Crazylight and innovated them into firmer and better-structured uppers with extra layers add-ons for security.
The toe part nods to the D Rose 4, which was originally released in 2013. The woven textiles in the toe and heel areas are thick and firm. The materials are soft and comfortable. These areas give a breathable experience to the feet of the user with their well-built textiles for ventilation and airflow.
The tongue and collar portion are nice, heavily molded, and well-implemented. The tongue gives the impression of the Nike LeBron 18 because their thickness and outer edge appearance are somewhat alike. Though they are kind of the same in terms of appearance, the tongue tab of Adidas D Rose 11 performs better than that of the Nike LeBron 18.
The D Rose 11’s tongue is made with micro mesh. It looks and feels more structured and not flimsy like the LeBron 18. The tongue moves along with the foot, making it easier and comfortable for the user to shift directions.
